HOW TO SPONSOR A COMMUNITY EVENT
Sponsorship can be a fast and easy way to put the
welding industry in the public eye. The most common method of
sponsorship is financial. The event organizers may ask you to
finance all or part of the event in exchange for advertising.
Advertising could include a banner at the event, or television
and print advertising. Always negotiate for as much
advertising as possible.
Another method of sponsorship could involve volunteer
labor or the donation of materials. Event organizers may ask you
to help construct a portion of the event or a project within the
event, in exchange for advertising. In most cases, the voluntary
donation of labor or materials is a better option than financial
support.
To become a sponsor, first identify the
event you would like to support. Then contact the event organizers.
Learn about events in the calendar section of your community
newspaper, or by word of mouth. To contact the event organizer call the number listed
with the event, or visit the event Web site. Once you have located the organizer, request information on sponsorship.
